A Note From Your Publisher

By Jennifer Ross December 18, 2019

‘Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house

Everyone was screaming, even the mouse

Socks lay strewn about, cus nobody cares

Despite my comments and evil glares

The kids all whined about going to bed

The kicking, the screaming, ugh, the tears that were shed

I in my “stretchy pants”, just wanted to nap

I am so freaking over this Elf on the Shelf crap

Under the tree, there lay not one present

My current mood is anything but pleasant

No cookies have been baked; no pretzels chocolate dipped

Our parent’s gifts still haven’t been shipped

No teacher gifts have been bought, but I had an idea

Gonna win the day with chocolates and Sangria

I still have one week, no worries…. We’re cool

Mom always pulls it off cus she’s no fool

Fire up the minivan, c’mon, let’s go!

To Target, to Walmart, the bakery, the mall

Grab the Legos, grab the Barbies

We’ll walk away with all we need, the haul

Wrap them like lightening

Quietly hide them, just don’t forget where

I forgot about their stockings

Under my breath I continue to swear

As the days close in and the eve is near

Mr. finds a moment to crack open a beer

It’s almost done, the finish in sight

I work like a mad woman each day & night

I make promises I know that I never will keep

Like planning, budgeting, man I just want to sleep

As I sprinkle the last cookie and wrap the last bow

I look around and watch the quietly falling snow

Tis finally time for mama to give her glass of wine that refill

And snuggle up with the Mr. for some Netflix and chill

Your Mac Mama,

Jenn
